Now at home without predators and by the hands of a loving couple, Pearl begins to thrive and develop, becoming once again the exotic family member from a small island devastated by self-destruction and neglect.
This is the only the start of the ongoing series of diaries and true life love stories of a Moluccan Cockatoo and her successful rehabilitation after 15 years of abuse and neglect and how she transformed the lives of a loving couple who unselfishly dedicate their lives towards others well-being.

I didn't have high expectations before I started reading, but it turned out to be an even bigger disappointment than I expected. The "author" seems to be quite chemically imbalanced, and seemingly delusional, writing about HERSELF from her bird's perspective. The only enjoyment I got out of this waste of paper, time and space is the disbelief and laughter I have shared and enjoyed after telling my friends, fellow animal lovers, and book club about this nonsense. If you enjoy a good train-wreck, conductor Jes Furhmann will take you on a journey straight to de-railment.
Read the first chapter and it bored me.
An extremely entertaining account from a bird's perspective of life in a bird sanctuary/rescue centre. Pink Pearl is a real cockatoo who was neglected by owners and has been rescued and looked after by the author who writes the book as from the eyes of Pink Pearl. This would make a great gift for readers of any age and particularly for anyone who is thinking of looking after birds; it shows a lot of the mistakes that can be made and how much work it takes to actually care properly for pets like these.
Reads as if written by someone with Schizophrenia.
I recently became interested in the world of exotic birds through a dear friend who lives with 12 rescued birds. She volunteers at rescues & sanctuaries in Florida. After visiting, I have come to feel for these amazing, intelligent creatures & what many have been through. This book gave me a great insight into their thoughts & I am now starting Vol 2, followed by Vol 3. Until someone has actually interacted with one of the remarkable creatures, you cannot imagine how easily they can win your heart.
I gave this 5 stars. I learned so much being a first time parrot owner. It was nice to read from Pearls point of view. Can't wait to read the next book.
